Cantab DC is delighted to invite you to August’s First Thursday Drinks in person! In line with the current climate, we will move from our usual venue to gather in an atmospheric outdoor setting.

Get out of your old habits and into some new ones! Just beyond the bustle of DC’s main corridors is Dirty Habit, with one of the hottest outdoor patios in DC. At the epicenter of Penn Quarter and Chinatown, right across the street from the Capital One Arena, this film noir-inspired venue is a contrast to the classic architecture of its host, the iconic 1841 General Post Office.

First Thursday Drinks are a low-key event where you can enjoy a great mix of alumni of all ages, degree programs, and life experiences, with lots to discuss in a friendly and easygoing environment. Catch up with old friends and make new ones!

Newcomers Welcome: If you are new in DC or this is your first time at a Cambridge event, make sure to email cantabsocdc@gmail.com ahead of time and we'll see that you are greeted and introduced to folks on your arrival. Please Note: The drinks usually kicks off with the first few people trickling in a few minutes after 6:30 and most having arrived by 7:30. Just look for the Cambridge Crest on the outdoor patio. If you get there right at 6:30 or if you do not see another Cantab, please don't run away! The rest will be there shortly.

The venue is located directly across the street from the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. Please remember to travel responsibly when leaving the drinks. We urge you to take public transportation and/or use a taxi.
